Project Brief
This project requires developing a unique concept for a book of short stories that revolve around a single fictional character. The narrative must be conceptualised around the guiding prompt ‘the moment after which everything was different’. The aim of the project is to create a set of meaningful narrative experiences for the reader, reflected in the life of the character and the accompanying visual language. A compelling editorial concept, thematic strategy, defined genre, and engaging imagery are essential to produce a captivating product.
Design Strategy
The editorial follows the narrative of my grandmother, Maymoona Momoniat, as she navigates her journey towards independence, finding love, and starting a family from scratch. Her tailor sketches served as the basis for the highlighter medium I developed on my own. The chapter’s illustrations track key events throughout her life.
